Real musicians are getting overshadowed by people whose just in it for the money. This is what's wrong with mainstream hip-hop. Its like anyone can make a song with a nice beat and take over airwaves and television. The real question is should anyone be able to be a rapper. But so does a lot of genres of music - especially metal rock, now that should be boycotted. Now, is most of hip-hop influenced by evil? Yes, because by definition it arises from actual or imputed bad character or conduct from it's listeners.

There is gospel rap and there is satanist rap but rap can't be generalized as good or bad. You can talk about anything and do it in a hip-hop style. One, is hip-hop evil? And two, why is hip-hop in the state it's in? I don't believe hip-hop is evil because hip-hop is just a type a way something is done. I named this blog "Hip-Hop: A Knife in the Wrong Hands" because of a couple of statements I've been hearing. It's bad reasoning and dang near prejudice. It's like having an Asian friend whose good at math and automatically believe all Asians are good at math, or if you have a black friend who dunk you think every African-American to walk the Earth can jump high. What got me upset was that she obviously only seen and explained the most mainstream hip hop song and categorized it as hip hop as a whole. It wouldn't surprise me if she started writing her material a few seconds after watching her first hip hop music video, probably on BET.

While I was listening, I couldn't help but think how ignorant she sounded while saying it. She explained all the usually stereotypical rap songs and videos, artists wear huge chains, talking about violence, half nude women dancing, and popular non-hip-hop songs being sampled at will. It was a video of a woman doing stand-up comedy, and she was explaining why she hated rap music (sorry I can't find the link). I seen this video recently while I was surfing YouTube that raised a question about people perception on hip hop.
